New Moon in Virgo, heading toward Balance (Libra)

"Libra-season" starts in the middle of this moonth, but we have to get ready for that with the New Moon in Virgo.

(I really like this photo I got from Pexels, and now I want to start staging my own....)

We talked about Virgo last moonth, and so we can still continue on with that.  That detail oriented, planning energy is still here and it's a good thing to do at the new moon anyway (September 14), when we are setting our intentions.  This is especially true now as until a week or so again, we had SEVEN planets in retrograde (everyone BUT Mars).  Venus went direct on September 3, and Mercury goes directly TODAY (September 15) and the rest not for a while. Mercury also rules Virgo, so the fact that I am writing and posting this the day AFTER the New Moon is probably just a coincidence.

Anyway... so for this New Moon in Virgo, take extra care with your plans and make sure Is are dotted and Ts are crossed. Even thought Mercury has gone direct, we are still in its shadow.  Virgo is a good place for the moon to be.

And to get back on track here, The New Moon has the sun and moon together (conjunct), so both our inner and outer selves are in sync with this.

The First Quarter moon is on September 22, and Virgo Sun is now square with Sagittarius Moon.  We may feel friction between still wanting (or needing) to project well-planned and organized Virgo energy, yet inwardly we yearn for the freedom to explore beyond those plans, into new frontiers. We may have a well thought out travel plan, yet we have a sudden urge to take that dirt road into the unknown, just to see what we can see. But don't worry, because we're heading into Libra and its balance the very next day.

For the Full Moon on September 29, Libra Sun is opposed to Aries Moon.  Aries can be somewhat self-focused, and maybe after all the upheaval with retrogrades (on-going) and being super organized, or at least trying to be, our inner selves are probably entitled to a little self-care. But we still have our outward obligations, and so the tension here is literally about finding the balance between what is good for us, and what is necessary for others.  This is the reverse of the Libra moon six months ago, where we were inwardly concerned with compromise and relationships.  Now our outward self is directed towards that, while our inner self wants to have its needs address too. Finding a balance is, for me, always the goal for a for a Full Moon, and Aries/Libra is probably the best example.. and the best energy to work with for this.

The Last Quarter comes on October 6, and Libra Sun is now square to Cancer moon.  The emotional needs of the self, perhaps illuminated more fully during the Full Moon now rise to prominence, and cause friction with the Libra Sun's emphasis on fair and just relationships.

Finally, because I am sure I will forget again, the next New Moon is on October 14, in Libra, hopefully resolving any issues that remain from this moonth, and then setting the attention for what still needs to be balanced.
